set in motion by the allure of distant music, it’s time to settle down in the
garden of viewing stones, an early inspiration for contemplation prior to
painting or writing that the Chinese called “Gongshi”. In the background,

"Próximo Oriente" is a show
broadcasted on Rádio Macau about what "Asia" or "oriental"
convey in musical terms. It consists on weekly expeditions in search of
representations of the Orient, an image constructed and fantasised through
sound. We will be wandering across different soundscapes and exoticisms, under
the spell of music from far away places.
