DCD – World Tour 2012-2013

Na passada noite de Sábado terminou a digressão mundial dos Dead Can Dance 

A Anastasis World Tour iniciou-se em Agosto de 2012 na cidade de Vancouver, no Canadá, e encerrou em Santiago do Chile dia 13 deste mês.
Em cerca de um ano foram 88 concertos em 22 países (Portugal incluído) em 4 continentes. Só África ficou de fora. Foi a maior digressão mundial de sempre dos Dead Can Dance em mais de três décadas de vida. «Anastasis» é o álbum de originais mais bem sucedido da banda em apenas um ano (hoje em dia todos os anteriores continuam a ter procura) e chegou a disco de ouro na Polónia.
Dos quase noventa concertos, três tiveram lugar em Portugal. Pela primeira vez os Dead Can Dance tocaram ao vivo no Porto e em Lisboa.
A Anastasis World Tour fez duas voltas na América do Norte, duas voltas na América do Sul e outras duas na Europa. Os Dead Can Dance actuaram na Austrália que os viu nascer, pela primeira vez em vinte anos.

Todas as metas anteriores foram ultrapassadas pela dupla Lisa Gerrard e Brendan Perry. Mas surge agora a questão mais inquietante de todas: e a partir daqui?
Lisa Gerrard regressará à bucólica quinta nas montanhas azuis no sul da sua Austrália natal. Brendan Perry à igreja/casa/estúdio em Quivvy na sua ancestral Irlanda. Mas o que se seguirá? Mais um hiato dos Dead Can Dance, ou novo disco de originais para breve?
A experiência anterior na longa carreira dos Dead Can Dance mostrou que tanto um novo hiato, mais ou menos prolongado, ou um novo trabalho de originais, mais menos breve, podem acontecer.
Sabe-se igualmente que ambos poderão regressar, mas em nome próprio, retomando as respectivas carreiras a solo.
É também do conhecimento dos apreciadores mais informados que material novo para editar é coisa que não falta aos Dead Can Dance.
O que falta mesmo é saber o que se seguirá. Até agora, nem uma notícia.

Nova canção

Os Pixies estarão ao vivo em Lisboa no próximo dia 9 de Novembro, no Coliseu dos Recreios.
Será o regresso à sala de espectáculos mais importante da capital, depois de um histórico e soberbo concerto da banda norte-americana no ano de 1991 (quem lá esteve sabe do que estou a falar).
A nova digressão europeia dos Pixies começa em Setembro em Paris e terminará em finais de Novembro em Londres.
Os Pixies trazem novos temas, mas já não contam com Kim Deal na formação. A nova baixista chama-se (também) Kim. Kim Shattuck.
Da formação original continuam Black Francis, Joey Santiago e David Lovering.
A banda formada em Boston em 1986 foi o principal nome do catálogo norte-americano da editora 4AD nos anos 80 e 90. Os Pixies estiveram no activo de 1986 a 1993. Voltaram em 2004.
Os bilhetes para o concerto em Portugal estão à venda a partir desta semana e têm o preço único de 35€.

Há cerca de um ano foi lançado o desafio aos fãs e admiradores de Bruce Springsteen: gravarem um curto vídeo que contasse de forma estritamente pessoal a sua ligação à música e à figura de Springsteen ao longo das quatro décadas da carreira do Boss.
Da selecção e junção das peças resultou um filme/documentário sobre esta lenda do Rock, cuja mensagem através da sua música e escrita atravessou, até aos dias de hoje, várias gerações em todo o mundo.
A equipa do realizador Ridley Scott produziu o documentário «Springsteen & I» que vai ter estreia mundial no próximo dia 22 de Julho. Dos primeiros 49 países a estrear o filme nos cinemas, Portugal não está incluído.
Portugal parece estar a regressar aos maus velhos tempos em que estava fora de tudo.

Gravada ao vivo na Real Academia de Música de Copenhaga.
Os dinamarqueses Efterklang são actualmente um dos expoentes máximos da editora independente britânica 4AD.
O concerto, agora publicado em edição de luxo, foi captado ao longo de duas noites em Outubro passado.
Acompanharam a formação dinamarquesa em palco Peter Broderick, Katinka Fogh Vindelev e Budgie (dos Siouxsie and The Banshees), para além da Orquestra Copenhagen Phil, composta por 33 elementos, sob a conduta do maestro alemão Andre de Ridder.
