É hoje editada a obra The Piramida Concert by Efterklang & Copenhagen Phil

Gravada ao vivo na Real Academia de Música de Copenhaga.
Os dinamarqueses Efterklang são actualmente um dos expoentes máximos da editora independente britânica 4AD.
O concerto, agora publicado em edição de luxo, foi captado ao longo de duas noites em Outubro passado.
Acompanharam a formação dinamarquesa em palco Peter Broderick, Katinka Fogh Vindelev e Budgie (dos Siouxsie and The Banshees), para além da Orquestra Copenhagen Phil, composta por 33 elementos, sob a conduta do maestro alemão Andre de Ridder.

DEAD CAN DANCE 

Em vésperas do regresso dos Dead Can Dance a Portugal para mais concertos, viagem até ao já longínquo ano de 1984, para redescobrir o tema de fecho do primeiro álbum da banda formada na cidade de Melbourne.
No álbum de estreia, homónimo, eram ainda notórias as heranças pós-punk que esteve na origem dos Dead Can Dance.

DOWNLOAD 

Os fundadores vinham de agrupamentos alternativos oriundos da Austrália e da Nova Zelândia.
Lisa Gerrard fez parte dos Junk Logic e dos Microfilm e Brendan Perry dos Scavengers e dos Marching Girls.
Apesar do trabalho primordial estar assente no rock alternativo, no primeiro álbum dos Dead Can Dance foram sendo lançadas as sementes fundamentais do que viria a ser uma carreira de mais de três décadas.
Prova disso é o final do alinhamento do primeiro registo gravado, o tema "Musica Eternal".

4AD / 2013 – DAUGHTER

Os britânicos Daughter estrearam-se em disco há poucos meses com o álbum «If You Leave», editado pela 4AD.

Uma das novas apostas da editora sediada em Alma Road encontra-se actualmente em digressão mundial.

Em Agosto farão parceria em palco com os The National, outra banda da casa também com novo trabalho recente.

Depois do Verão, os Daughter regressarão à Europa para mais concertos em novas datas, com Portugal (por enquanto) de fora.

DCD - Cantara

Brendan Perry está a conceber novos arranjos para o tema “Cantara” a fim de o levar a palco no regresso da actual digressão dos Dead Can Dance à Europa.
“Cantara” é um dos temas mais aclamados pelo público conhecedor da obra dos Dead Can Dance.
Há muito que o tema cantado por Lisa Gerrard foi retirado das apresentações ao vivo da banda. Não fez parte da digressão mundial em 2005 e não entrou ainda na actual, mas o próprio Brendan Perry anunciou na rede social Twitter que está a preparar novos arranjos de “Cantara” para a segunda volta da Anastasis Tour.
O tema “Cantara” faz parte do álbum «Within The Realm of a Dying Sun», editado em 1987, e foi tocado ao vivo pela última vez em Outubro de 1994 no Mayfair Theatre em Santa Monica, Califórnia, na digressão dos Dead Can Dance nos Estados Unidos.

The Style Council & Tracey Thorn 

Os Style Council foram o projecto conjunto de Paul Weller e Mick Talbot.
Paul Weller, antigo membro dos saudosos The Jam, liderava desde 1983 este novo projecto, a par do também compositor e pianista Mick Talbot.
Oriundo(s) de Londres, este colectivo inglês – desfeito em 1990 – foi precursor de uma linha sonora sofisticada que combinava vários estilos numa saborosa simbiose entre Pop, Jazz, Bossa Nova e música orquestral.
Esta corrente musical britânica ganhou o nome informal de Lite-Jazz e teve outros artistas sobejamente conhecidos da indústria musical na década de oitenta, como por exemplo a cantora Sade Adou, os Working Week ou os Everything But The Girl.

DOWNLOAD 

Justamente a vocalista dos Everything But The Girl, Tracey Thorn, foi convidada a dar voz à balada "The Paris Match", uma das delícias compostas por Paul Weller no segundo álbum dos Style Council, «Café Bleu», editado em 1984.
